How Long Is 3 5 Business Days?
3 to 7 calendar days in a week with no holiday. Three business days after you order is the earliest date; five business days is the latest. From any weekday the latest date is a week later. The earliest date depends on the day: 3 calendar days from a Monday or Tuesday order, 5 from Wednesday to Friday because the weekend comes first. A holiday inside it adds a day each time, which is why a 3–5 day order placed on November 20, 2026 can take until November 30.

How to count 3–5 business days yourself
- Take the date the clock starts. Usually that is the day the order or request was accepted. It is day 0 and doesn't count.
- Move forward one day at a time. Skip every Saturday and Sunday.
- Skip any weekday holiday the business observes. For U.S. federal holidays that means dates such as Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26, 2026) or Christmas (Friday, December 25, 2026).
- The third weekday you reach is the earliest date. The fifth is the latest. Anything after the fifth is late.

Retailers have used a range like this for refunds rather than deliveries; one quoted 10–14 business days to process a return. That is two to three calendar weeks.
Who waits longer than the table says
- Alaska and Hawaii. Standard ground service to these states can take weeks rather than days. One U.S. retailer's policy put standard mail to Alaska and Hawaii at 22–41 days, partly by sea, and only opened a lost-package investigation after 30 business days from shipping (10 for express).
- Orders in a holiday week. Each weekday holiday in the window adds one day. Between November 20 and January 14 there are three: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
- Orders the store logs late. After the daily cutoff, or on a weekend, the count starts one business day later than the table.
- Businesses with their own closures. The table skips federal holidays only. A store or bank closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving or on Christmas Eve adds that day too.
- "Up to 5 business days." Until the fifth business day has ended, the order isn't late. Contact the seller after that date, not before.
